• Mini comprehensive insurance: Mini comprehensive insurance, or small comprehensive insurance, is a package including compulsory motor vehicle liability insurance as well as numerous additional coverages. It can essentially be considered a lighter version of comprehensive motor insurance.

 A mini omnium insurance includes the following cover:

• Fire insurance
• Theft cover
• Glass breakage cover
• Natural disaster cover
• Collision with an animal cover

It is advisable to take out mini comprehensive insurance for vehicles which, due to their age, are not valuable enough to be insured under a comprehensive insurance policy.

• Full comprehensive insurance: Comprehensive insurance is an optional cover that insures damage to your own vehicle. Comprehensive insurance applies when the costs incurred cannot be recovered from a third party (e.g. broken windows, theft, fire, etc.) or when that person cannot be identified (e.g. hit-and-run offence).
  
  

Example: In the event of anan accident where you are not at fault,, the costs incurred to your own vehicle will be borne by the other party. Conversely, in the event of an accident where you are at fault, the costs incurred to your own vehicle will be your responsibility, unless you have comprehensive insurance.
